Giant Day Gecko (Phelsuma grandis)
Electric green with red flecking down the back and a rust-red stripe running from the nostril to the eye. Phelsuma grandis is the largest of the day geckos and, unlike most geckos in the trade, it's active during the day — which means you actually see it. They're bold, curious, and quick to learn who brings the food.
What to know before buying
Day geckos are a look-don't-touch species. Their skin tears easily and they're fast, so they're best kept as display animals rather than handled pets. In a well-planted vertical enclosure they're one of the most striking reptiles you can keep.
